The reverse flow reveals quieter islands and longer island passages. Vis introduces open sea and clear waters, while the route gradually builds toward Dubrovnik’s historic arrival. Well-paced, diverse, and deeply rewarding.
Sailing character: mixed passages, evolving rhythm
Best for: sailors who enjoy contrast and progression
Arrival in Split for provisioning, boarding, and a welcome briefing. Time to settle into the boat, meet the crew, and prepare for the Adriatic journey ahead.
The passage toward Mljet is calm, rhythmic, and visually striking.
By afternoon, we arrive at Mljet National Park a landscape we return to time and again for its quiet beauty. Dense pine forests, lagoon-like bays, and aquarium-clear waters define the setting. We anchor beneath a natural canopy of trees.
The evening unfolds with a light dinner on deck, followed by a night under the stars, fully immersed in nature.
In the morning, we leave Mljet’s peaceful coves and head north. Along the way, the Adriatic reveals deep greens and dark blues that shift with the light.
A midday swim stop in an untouched bay sets the pace before Korčula’s silhouette appears in the afternoon red-tiled roofs, fortified walls, and narrow stone streets, often described as a smaller, more intimate Dubrovnik.
The evening is spent wandering the old town, accompanied by the aromas of local wines, traditional songs, and a gentle Mediterranean breeze.
Today’s route moves toward a more energetic, cosmopolitan atmosphere.
By afternoon, we enter Hvar Harbour elegant yachts, stone streets, and a historic hilltop fortress framing the scene. The energy feels like the Adriatic’s answer to Mykonos: social, stylish, and effortlessly vibrant.
We depart Hvar early in the morning and sail toward Brač. This leg offers one of the Adriatic’s calmest and most fluid passages. Along the rocky coastline, small turquoise pockets and hidden coves invite swim stops.
In the afternoon, we anchor near Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) one of the world’s most iconic beaches, known for its striking white triangular shape. The day concludes ashore in Brač, where local stone-built restaurants reflect the island’s relaxed, grounded rhythm.
After leaving Brač, the route gradually turns west toward Vis, one of the Adriatic’s most isolated and unspoiled islands. As we approach, the coastline becomes more dramatic: steep cliffs, dense pine forests, and an almost phosphorescent blue sea.
This colour is uniquely Vis deep, pure, and exceptionally clear. We stop for swims in Stiniva or Rukavac Bay, both world-renowned natural sites that feel like hidden lagoons. The water is so clear that the boat’s shadow is visible on the seabed.
By afternoon, we arrive in Vis Harbour. The island retains a rare, post-war untouched character, quiet streets, a slow rhythm, and a sense of pure Mediterranean nostalgia. Stone houses, narrow lanes, and a soft sea breeze define the atmosphere.
For those who wish, an optional excursion to the Blue Cave is available, where sunlight entering the cave turns the water an almost neon shade of blue. Vis offers a genuine island spirit, far removed from mass tourism a fitting, reflective close to the journey.
